Our Story

A journey that began with Tango.

Our journey began in 2010 when we brought home Tango, a beautiful Quarter Horse mare from South Africa. Little did we know that this mare would become the foundation of our dream — to establish a stud dedicated to breeding horses not only for work, but for passion.

Tango gifted us four remarkable foals: Tex, Utah, Phantom, and Lanïna. Each one has been raised and trained right here on our farm, becoming integral to our cattle work and showcasing the exceptional versatility of the Quarter Horse.

In 2024, we took the leap and officially registered our stud — a long-held dream of the Fourie family. Our vision is simple but meaningful: to share the same joy and connection we've found with our horses with others who share our passion.

Cielie with one of the Khomas Quarter Horses

Watching each foal grow, develop its own personality, and become a trusted partner has been a sweet adventure — a daily reminder of God's design, where no two beings are the same, each with their own spirit and purpose.

We believe in adapting to each horse's individuality, nurturing their strengths, and respecting their differences. Our story is one of family, passion, and a deep connection with the land and the animals around us — and we invite you to be part of it.

What We Breed For

Cow sense, soundness, temperament.

01

Cow Ability

We select for natural cow sense and the athleticism to back it — horses that read cattle and want the job, on the ranch or in the show pen.

02

Versatility

Ranch work, reining, trail, and all-round performance. Our horses are built to do a bit of everything and do it willingly.

03

Sound Minds

Raised in a herd on hard country, our horses grow up brave, level-headed, and genuinely trainable — the trait we prize most.

The Khomas Hochland

Namibia is our training ground.

Mountain, thornbush and dry riverbed — with a brief green after the rains. Our horses are shaped by one of the most beautiful and demanding landscapes on earth.

The Program

Meet our horses.

A carefully chosen band of broodmares and our herd sire, each selected for what they pass on to the next generation.

Real horses, real work.

Gathering cattle, branding days, mountain trails and river crossings — our horses earn their keep and prove their breeding every day.
